Nothing. Zero. Nada. Ziltch.

This is a photo of a monarch butterfly taken from www.sciencedaily.com. I used this photo because I do not have one of my own. I do not have one of my own because I have not seen one monarch butterfly, not one, even though my research shows that the monarch butterfly migration should have peaked in my area this past week.

Are they late? Are they gone, like the bees from so many commercial colonies? Did I just miss them, me who has noticed persimmons and the Red Admiral butterflies that feast upon the fermenting fruit on the ground, black walnuts, passionfruit and the hanging seed pods of the kudzu vine in this past week alone?

I have scanned the news for a report on this, but I have found nothing. Zero. Nada. Ziltch.

Has anyone seen a monarch butterfly recently?

I saw a few a couple of weeks ago but not many. And I'm an official monarch waystation so I have all the right plants.

Lots here at my place, Pattie. Perhaps they like it too much in Australia and forgot to leave !
