Do you feel it, the swirling vortex of energy forming, forming, forming, a little more each day, by people around the world connecting about our global food supply? Seedsavers, chefs, farmers, consumers, scientists, government agencies, PTA boards, the media, neighbors, friends, children, parents, spouses, even employers with their ever-expanding wellness programs?
It reminds me of that game we play sometimes in the pool where everyone walks quickly in a circle, dragging their arms along as they slice through the water, moving it forward, until finally a whirlpool forms that is bigger than each of us and forces us to stop our voluntary movement and let the spinning water carry us around collectively. And there is no denying that singularly wonderful sensation—it feels good. And it feels powerful. And it feels full of possibilities bigger than each of us alone.
And so I saw this puff of fluff in my garden yesterday. And I watched as the wind blew and its seeds flew gently off in the direction of my neighbor’s yard, and Florida, and Brazil, and South Africa. And I imagined the seeds before it, and after it, and the soil where they land and the people who till the soil and coax growth and nourishment out of manure. And I put out my arms and let them slice through the wind and I joined them in a global whirlpool, across time and space and ideology. And it felt good. And powerful. And full of possibilities bigger than me alone.

I will try to tap into this feeling you describe. Mostly I feel despair and that I'm being dragged to the edge of a cliff against my will. No one ever said I was an optimist!
Christy: No, no, no! No despair! SO much good is happening, collectively! Try focusing just for a week on articles about positive change and you'll see that change for the better is everywhere. Let us know what you find!

OK, I realized I never answered this. I've been really trying to focus on the good and positive. It has been helping and I really appreciate you turning my head in that direction.
You could always try dancing :)
