Yet again, I was in a supermarket yesterday and passed the baby food jars and thought of Agatha Chibili. You may remember Agatha. I wrote about her in June.
We all have our “aha” moments, when it all just makes sense—or doesn’t. For Agatha Chibili, that moment came when she was pregnant and started paying attention to baby food on the shelves at the supermarket. She noticed something concerning. Every jar of baby food, including the organic ones, had “good until” dates many months into the future. In fact, the food that Agatha’s unborn baby would one day eat as an eight month old was already on the shelves.
“This doesn’t make sense,” thought Agatha. “How fresh could that food be?”
Agatha did what enterprising moms with their children’s best interest in mind have done throughout history—she set out to change the world, or at least the world of her child. Armed with extensive research, a solid business plan, and handful of interesting recipes, Agatha launched Yummy Spoonfuls, a line of frozen fresh food for three stages of development, which she calls Creamy Yummy, Mushy Yummy and Chunky Yummy (which is particularly popular with seniors as well, by the way). Yummy Spoonfuls products are 100% organic, dairy and gluten free, with no salt, preservatives, additives, sugar or fillers.
Now the only USDA Certified Organic baby food manufacturer in the state of Georgia, Yummy Spoonfuls makes all orders fresh, buys from local farmers when possible, and distributes at a growing list of area retailers, at several farmers markets, through its website and at its commercial kitchen.
And after hearing from Agatha the other day, I have even more exciting news: Yummy Spoonfuls will be available at all Southeastern Whole Foods stores starting in February! Way to go, Agatha!

Heather and Connie cook up the most delicious fruits and veggies-so good I even sneak a spoon full (or three). They were recently featured on 11 Alive news' Wes Side Story.
Their food is not only fresh and delicious it comes packaged in a zip top bag. You take out how ever many cubes you need and heat them in a paper or glass bowl. The food is not packaged in plastic containers that have to be heated in the microwave. Give them a try!
